All change, please
Monday, November 13, 2006This morning, a four-mile journey to work took me an hour and a half. As previously documented, I could have completed the journey a third quicker on foot. So here’s a useful tip for anyone living in London who’s had similarly miserable experience – lousy journeys can be claimed for online using tfl’s customer refunds system. It’s not particularly friendly, clever or easy to find, but at least it exists.
(Journeys such as these have been made more bearable with a gripping novel or two…)

What did you think of The Time Traveller’s Wife? I liked it, but being set in Chicago definitely helped.

Personally, I loved the Time Traveller’s Wife, but having a librarian as a main character definitely helped for me ;)
By the way Simon, I’ve got a job now and can’t remember if I told you! It’s in South Kensington, so drop me a line if you’re ever in the area.

Well… It’s an interesting one. I really enjoyed it, thought the idea was delicious, very well executed and the plot was racy, though I thought the writing was fairly functional and as a result of the darting plot lines, the characters were a little thin and under-developed. Also the ending was a slight let-down. That said, gripping read and I’d definitely recommend it.Hooray for jobbery! Let’s have faux-posh lunch soon x

that updating tube map thing says it takes me 15 minutes to get to work.. that is SO wrong!
i guess it would be good if there was a way to factor in the inevitable parts like the walk between platforms and the fact that you have to let three trains pass because they’re too full to get on. now THAT would be impressive
