Drawing to a close
Sunday, December 31, 2006Another year over - and in contrast to 2005, 2006 has felt a bit, well, flat. There have been no major upheavals, and aside from completing my first 10k run, I don’t feel like I achieved any major goals. Not the best feeling.
So, in order to kick-start some positive thinking for 2007, I’m going to attempt the following (hopefully realistic) resolutions, to complete before the end of the year:
- Get fitter, enter and run a half marathon
- Take a photography course, and if money permits, buy a digital SLR
- See more live music (already lined up for January-June 2007: Imogen Heap, Scott Matthews, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!, Regina Spektor, The Shins, Muse, Metric and Ray Lamontagne)
- Write a song
- Visit Brugges (before June)
- Move minor9th.com to wordpress and write about music more (by April)
I’m not usually a fan of resolutions, and this is the first year that I intend to revisit these every couple of weeks to make sure I’m on track…
Happy new year!
Addendum: I think I’ve been a tad unfair. In 2006 I visited New York and the Croatian coast, became a tiny bit more financially stable, worked on several successful work projects, raised over £500 for charity… it’s not all bad.
