Moving from Movable Type to WordPress
Sunday, February 18, 2007minor 9th has been powered by a number of different content management systems (CMSs) since it began – it’s been hand-coded, managed with blogger, greymatter and, for the last five years, movable type. All of these methods served me well, but because I can’t help tinkering, I decided to switch over to wordpress.
It has been one of the least-painful experiences of my technological life. No swear words were uttered, and relatively few mugs of tea were imbibed during the process (sadly).
My web host, 34sp, have an option to automatically install the wordpress php scripts, and editing templates and configuration is really straightforward. It’s also been a good excuse to have a bit of a tidy up and realign the design a bit. It’s far from perfect but it’s a work in progress, as ever…

Ah fnoo I like the new look, although the green background on the tunes section is actually making my eyes bleed a bit. and possibly needs a bit of padding
But then I can’t really talk as I haven’t even got a website ;)
I do like how the comments don’t pop up too..

Yeah, it definitely needs a bit of work, that part. I just kindof wanted to get something finished though, so I’ll look at that bit later… Also I think the headings could do with a bit of sIFR action…
